Blue Aragonite with UV Afterglow – Sichuan, China
A beautiful blue aragonite specimen from Laojuntan Village in Sichuan Province, China.
This plate-like specimen displays soft aqua-blue coloration, creamy white banding, subtle translucency, and natural variations throughout its surface. The reverse retains portions of its natural matrix, offering an interesting contrast to the smooth blue presentation face.
Under ultraviolet light, the specimen displays a vivid blue fluorescent response. Once the UV light is switched off, it produces a contrasting green phosphorescent afterglow that gradually fades over several seconds.
